Hi, my name is Kevin Rusling, I am a computer technician working for StorageTeK. I live in Biggleswade just 3 kms from Old Warden's Shuttleworth air museum in Bedfordshire England. I have owned the S10 -582 for just over 16 months but have had several problems to resolve, including water temp over heating, intermittently the header tank running dry when aerobating - caused by air-locks in the fuel pipes to header tank. Just fitted a new exhaust due to cracking so hopefully nearing the end of the problems. I have been flying for 20 years and before the S10 I owned a Baby Great Lakes - a challenge to land without a bounce unless on smooth tarmac. I did aerobatic course on a C150 aerobat, several years ago after selling my half share in a Putzer Elster-B. Before that I owned a Evans VP1 - very over weight and under powered. I have done some glider tugging in a worn-out Super Cub, and currently have a share in a PA28, flown Grob 109 motorgliders, RF3. My dream would be to covert the S10 engine from a 582 to a 912 if the PFA would allow it to keep its aerobatic permit. The S10 is the most enjoyable aircraft I have owned to date and would be the most practical to own if the 912 was fitted. I have added a few pics of the Baby Lakes and the Putzer Elster -B : The Baby Lakes was imported from the states in 1992 had a C-85 but was not cleared for aero's in the UK unfortunately. The Putzer was imported from Belgium in 1980's. served several years in the Luftwaffe as a basic trainer and glider tug. We repainted it to it's original markings on except was not allowed by the CAA to put the correct shape of the German cross. It was slow, cruised at 65kts on a C-90 but its 43ft ex-glider wing was relaxing to fly on on a calm summer's evening, but very much hard work in thermal conditons. |
